65-365 Alberts Adventures descovering new life

The circle of life.

After spending an evening of grieving in his house, Albert felt the need to get out in the fresh air to take his mind off things. Everywhere he looked, there were things that reminded him of his dear friend. Albert fought back the tears, as he felt that Monty wouldn't want him to cry anymore.

When Albert got back home, he noticed something that hadn't been there before. There was a bright white snowdrop dancing in the wind. Albert began to watch the snowdrop and was thinking of Monty. After a while he began to think how Monty had passed on, but the life of this beautiful snowdrop had just began. This made Albert feel better about the situation and come to terms with it.

He was always going to miss his dear friend, but life must go on. Then a philosophical thought came to his mind... "where one life ends, a new one begins."

64-365 Alberts Adventures in Mourning

Day 64

Today has been an emotional rollercoaster of a day for Albert. It all started off so well, he was on the phone at 9 to secure his V festival tickets for an adventure later in the year. He couldn't believe how many times he had to ring as he couldn't get through. But an hour later and a huge phone bill created, Albert was able to look forward to the summer.

However his day of joy was short lived. Albert received a phone call this afternoon from a friend. Sadly Monty had passed away. Albert was devastated, tears filled his eyes and rolled down his cheeks. How could this happen, he had only seen him yesterday. Albert couldn't comprehend never seeing his friend again.

After that, Albert spent the rest of the day mourning his dear friend.

63-365 Alberts Adventures with Monty

Albert visits and unwell friend.

Today Albert heard that one of his good friends was not very well, so he felt obliged to pay him a visit, so he called a taxi to come and take him. Albert thought it best to wait outside ready for the taxi, so not to waste any time. 10 minutes later and the taxi was there.

As the taxi pulled up, he didn't see Albert standing there waiting, and almost ran him over. Albert had to dive into the gutter in the road to avoid the collision. This didn't bode well for Albert either, as on the other side of the curb was a drain cover. Albert managed to stretch his arms out wide enough to stop himself falling down into the sewer.

The taxi driver waited for 15 minutes, but as he could see Albert, he drove off. Albert was stuck and needed to get out of the drain cover. As the taxi pulled off, there was a bit of material hanging off the back. As it passed him, Albert grabbed it. It set him free, now all Albert had to hope for was that the taxi was going to pass his friends house.

Again lady luck shined down for Albert, and the taxi stopped in traffic right outside his friends house. Monty was ever so pleased to see Albert had made the effort to come and see him. Albert spent the day there looking after him, feeding him and playing fetch. Before it got dark Albert said his goodbyes and began walking home, as he couldn't risk another taxi ride.

62-365 Alberts Adventures with the battery

Two heads are better than one.

After his ordeal yesterday, Albert didn't fancy doing anymore washing for a long time. And this suited Sally just fine, because she fancied a cosy day watching the TV with Albert. So Sally sat down, in their brown leather seats getting the TV ready, while Albert went off the make a cup of tea.

As Albert poured the boiling water into the cups, he watched the teabag drift up and swirl around the cup gracefully, leaving in its wake a streak of brown. These streaks of brown kept swirling round the cups until the water was completely changed into tea. The rhythmic dance of the tea, always mesmerises Albert.

As he walked back into the other room, he found Sally stretching under the settee. She had dropped the control and the battery had flown out under the settee. Sally was too big to reach it, so Albert came to the rescue and dived under. A few seconds later, he re-emerged holding the battery like a precious pearl in victory.

Sally held the cover open while Albert re-inserted the battery into the control. They then began to sip their tea and enjoy the rest of the afternoon watching TV together.

61-365 Alberts Adventures with the Washing Machine

Albert goes for a spin.

It was laundry day, and Albert had to was all hit dirty items. Being the nice guy he is, he also offered to was Sally's things as well. This was a big thing for him, as he had never washed anybody else's clothes before, and was terrified that he would shrink them.

He began loading the washing machine with great difficulty. The size difference was astronomical. Albert had to climb into the washing machine and then drag the cloths into it. It was all going so well until the last item. As he pulled the last sheet into the washing machine, it caught the door, and caused it to close. Albert was now stuck inside the washing machine.

To Albert's horror, to door slammed so violently, that it turned the washing machine on! Albert began to hit the door, and call for help. This was going to get messy, Albert thought. However help arrived in the form of Sally!!

Even though Sally is much taller that Albert, she was still tiny compared to the washing machine. She tried jumping to press the off button, but was nowhere near. If only she had her abseiling equipment with her, she would be able to climb down the washing machine to turn it off. The washing machine began to fill with water. Albert was becoming more terrified by the minuet.

Sally kept her cool and came up with an idea. She ran outside and grabbed some stones and came back in. She threw the first one and missed the target completely. Then she threw the second, but it didn't make it past the door. This was her last chance, before the spin cycle started. She held her breath and threw it................ She did it!!! The washing machine stopped and Albert was saved.

60-365 Alberts Adventures making dinner

Romantic meal for two.

After all the work Albert had been doing lately guarding the cup and putting Sally in hospital with the allergic reaction to the flowers, Albert thought it would be good if he cooked her a meal. He began flicking through the cook books, which was a task and a half, as they were so thick and heavy. Albert was lucky not to get trapped beneath them!

When he finally found the recipe for one of his favourite pasta dishes, he set off to work. As the pasta jar was so tall, Albert couldn't reach in to get any out. So he began rocking the jar. Side to side it went until it came crashing down. The lid went shooting off like a frisbee and almost took Albert's arm off.

Albert managed to finish off the rest of the dinner without anything else going wrong. He set the table up, and lit some candles to set the mood. Dinner time came and went, but there was no Sally. Where was she? Albert didn't realise that Sally was working late tonight, and by the time she got in, all the food was cold and the candles were burnt out. It was a nice thought she told him, but check what time I finish work next time.
